Ataturk Has Commemorated at the Airport

Founder of Republic of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s commemorate ceremony was held at Istanbul Airport because of the 81st anniversary of his death. IGA executives, airport personnel and passengers attended the ceremony.

Turkish flag and Atatürk portrait were hung inside the airport building.

The ceremony was held on the departure floor of the International Terminal.  When the time was 09.05 o’clock, personnel and the passengers who were at the airport for travel made a minute of silence. After the moment of silence, The National Anthem was read. English announcements were made for foreign passengers at the airport. The policemen at the passport control points left their jobs at that moment to stand up and stand in silence and accompanied to the National Anthem. After the ceremony, the proceedings have continued.
